Meditation Session for Locals, Boston

On Saturday, August 22nd 2015, the Dhammakaya temple in Boston hosted a meditation event. The aim of the event was to spread kindness and compassion to the 9/11 victims and those affected by the tragedy. This event received attention from the locals. 11 participants of 7 nationalities attended:  Korean, Singaporean, Brazilian and American, including graduate students from Harvard University. The event began with registration and  stretching exercises before the meditation session. Next, they were introduced to the meditation practice and given meditation instructions for beginners by Ms. Penprapa Decha. Then Venerable Sanchaya Nakajayo kindly led the group in meditation and initiated the lighting of the candle for peace. The candle was passed to the representatives who passed it to all the attendees. The main candle was then lit by everyone. Participants prayed to spread loving kindness to the world. The event concluded with a group picture. Everyone was impressed and happy to participate in this event.
