The 34th Meditation for Locals was held on Sunday March 27th, 2016 at Japanese Meditation Center in Tokyo. The temple arranged meditation and taught dharma in the Japanese language on the topic of “The primary steps of meditation.” There were 10 participants and the teaching monk Phra Sanam Bhurisilo taught the way to meditate easily along the following steps.
- Have all participants free their minds from and make themselves feel relaxed and comfortable
- Adjust their sitting posture to be suitable, not too tight or loose. Then the teaching monk told them to close their eyes gently, sit as if they were nearly asleep and let their mind be relaxed and comfortable. Later, the monk played the “Samma Arahang” mantra to help the participants’ minds stay at the center of their bodies.
They meditated together for 1 hour. Each of them was happy from the meditation and they intended to meditate continuously.
