Meditation Class at Quincy Police Station

The teaching monks from Dhammakaya Meditation Center of Boston went to teach meditation at the Quincy Police Station in Massachusetts, USA.

On the morning of Wednesday February 3rd, 2016. Phrakhru Sotthidhamvidesa California, Secretary of America and Canada Region, and Phra Phonthep Chanabalo, along with staffs from the Dhammakaya Meditation Center of Boston, visited Quincy Police Station in Massachusetts and taught meditation to the police.  Ms.Sirin Wongwittayawet invited all teaching monks there.  The morning started off with Mr. Paul Keena, Superintendent of the police precinct, giving a warm welcome. When the bright time arrived, over ten policemen interested in meditation gathered in the meeting room, and then the teaching monk began to teach them about the basic technique of meditation. They visualized a crystal ball at the 7th base of the bodies, as well as repeated the Mantra “Samma Arahang”. The monk also taught them to do it mindfully, happily and relaxingly. They meditated together for over 30 minutes.

After the meditation session everybody was relaxed and peaceful.  They discussed meditation with the teaching monks.  They then had a discussion on promoting the “World Peace through Inner Peace” project.  They all agreed that the inner peace from meditation is able to extend throughout the society. The Quincy Police Station hopes to promote meditation in their routine activities and to local residents.  When the residents have inner experiences, their communities will be peaceful ones in the future.

Dhammakaya Meditation Center of Boston plans to teach meditation to locals continuously every Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The objective is to spread meditation to locals in order to attain Dhammakaya sustainably.
