Meditation for Beginners Course // July 23, 2016—Japanese Meditation Center, Japan

On Sunday July 23rd, 2016 the Japanese Meditation Center in Tokyo, Japan hosted a meditation-for-beginner course. The event was scheduled for two timeslots: one in mid-afternoon and in the late evening. This event received great interest from the locals. Most Venerable Dr. Pongsak Taniyo was an instructor monk. Since this event was hosted for the first time, the instructor monk familiarized the attendees by engaging them in meditation discussion. The topic was mainly about the mind and the usefulness of the trained mind. To help the attendees to progress with meditation, exercises were given as homework to prepare the attendees for the upcoming mediation course—which is going to be about meditation its customized approach. Then the instructor monk led the attendees to meditation for 20 minutes. Everyone was impressed with the meditation that they experienced from being a part of this course and hope to come back to practice more meditation in the near future.
