The Buddhist Council New York held the International Vesak Day at Saint Peter’s Church, New York, on May 15, 2016. Monks from Mahayana Sect, Tibetan, Zen and over 100 participants joined in this activity. Monk representatives and laypeople from Dhammakaya International Meditation Center of New Jersey (D.I.M.C.N.J) attended in this event as well. Vesak Day is one of the most important Buddhist holy days for Buddhists to pray the chanting to recall the Buddha’s Kindness in each disciple’s style.
