The Dhammakaya Foundation provides survival bags to assist fire victims at O-Lobin in Dawei, Myanmar
On May 1st 2015, Phra Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, Head of the Communications Organizations of the Dhammakaya Temple announced that the Dhammakaya Foundation led by Phrathepyanmahamuni (Luangpor Dhammajayo) provided 200 survival bags containing commodities such as rice and Meals Ready To Eat (MREs), medicine and 1,500 T-shirts to assist fire victims at O-Lobin Village in Dawei, Myanmar.
‘At the first step, Luangpor Dhammajayo sent 10 teaching monks and temple officers to Dawei and set up a cooperative office in collaboration with the Venerable Intayana, a senior monk in Dawei, to provide urgent support to the affected villagers. It is hoped that the commodities dispatched can alleviate their suffering more or less and we will continue to help them until the situation there gets better. A fire had broken out at O-lobin Village yesterday (April 30th 2015), damaging over 70 houses. Most of the residing villagers live in large families and near each other. The fire thus affected over 1,000 people. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
