On Friday, February 12th 2016 at 1:00 p.m., the teaching monks from Wat Phra Dhammakaya Taipei, Taiwan, led by Phra Maha Thanat Jetthadhammo, Phra Suchin Sujino, and Phra Watcharapan Jutindharo, were the representatives for Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Luang Por Dhammajayo who visited the Tzu Chi Buddhist Organization in Banqiao district, Taiwan, and made a donation to help the victims of Tainan earthquake in Taiwan.
There was an earthquake that shook Southern Taiwan on Saturday, February 6. At least 14 people were killed and more than 150 people that were unaccounted for. The report showed a 6.4 magnitude earthquake that damaged many buildings in the city of Tainan. There was a 17-story apartment that collapsed and killed more than 10 people. Many organizations came to give a helping hand to Taiwan, especially Tzu Chi Buddhist Organization, one of the leaders of an international humanitarian organization.
