Wat Phra Dhammakaya Korsør Lystskov, Denmark, taught meditation and Buddhist Culture for the students of Gerlev Idrætshøjskole school on Friday April 20, 2018. Students from seven countries – Denmark, Greenland, Iceland, Belgium, China, Japan, and Cambodia – from Gerlev Idrætshøjskole visited and participated in these activities – the orientation on the respect on the Triple Gems, Thai-style kowtow or also called Benjangkhapradit bowing, how to meditate, and watching video to understand Buddhism more.
After that the teaching monk led them to worship the Triple Gems and meditate. Then, the teaching monk answered their questions involved Buddhism and meditation. The students learnt Buddhist Culture through the meritorious activities such as the ceremonies of offering saffron robe sets, alms, meals; the morning alms round; the ceremony of pouring water to dedicate merit to the dead. The students also received blessings from the teaching monk, gilt the Crystal of Fulfillment, toured the temple and saw the Buddha’s Biography Exhibition.
The students were impressed with these activities and revealed their feelings as follows.
Christain Høumarr said that he learnt how to practice the real meditation and many things including how to keep himself healthy. He liked us and appreciated with the things we did. He saw and thought that our place was really good.
Mathias Verstraele revealed that meditation is comfortable. He liked to offer meals and the morning alms round because he felt like he was a part of the activities. This training was interesting and he learnt many things.
Michel Wurr said that he learnt Thai Buddhism, Buddhist Ceremonies and Culture especially meditation. He could apply meditation in his daily life as the meditation was the way to generate consciousness and intelligence.
Carmen told us that our place is beautiful and cozy. She experienced new Thai culture and hoped to get another chance to learn. In addition, the food was very delicious and she liked it very much. She liked our staffs and the teaching monks because she thought we brought only good and different things for her. She also thanked Teacher Karen who gave her and her friends for this special occasion.
