
On 9 February 2026, Venerable Phrakhrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, director of Communication Department of Wat Phra Dhammakaya related that due to the working pressure and troubles in daily life, the great number of foreigners increasingly have interest in meditation practice and practical principles of Buddhism. The meditation will definitely bring inner peace to doers and outer peace to different societies of the world.
Cape Town Meditation Centre is one of the Buddhist sanctuaries in South Africa and has continuously propagated Buddhism to the locals. On 8 February 2026, Venerable Thitiphol Yanakhutto was teaching monk for 26 locals who did meditation in 50 minutes and reported their result to him that they gained inner happiness or inner peace and felt relaxed during their practice.
Cape Town Meditation Centre was first established in 2021 as the place for Buddhism propagation to the locals in South Africa. The great number of attendees of meditation course continuously increases according to following data (Year : Number of Attendees) ; 2022 : 165 attendees / 2023 : 840 attendees / 2024 : 805 attendees / 2025 : 1,224 attendees / 2026 (updated data at the beginning of 2026) : 199 attendees. This reflects the effective Buddhism propagation to the locals of multicultural society.
This activity is supported by donators who jointly founded the meditation centre as the symbol of Buddhism propagation in South Africa. Cape Town Meditation Centre not only brings inner peace but also builds the faith in Buddhism among the locals in Cape Town.
