Some British laypeople went to meditate in the evening of big Buddhist holy day. This class is held every week. Besides leading the participants to meditate together, the teaching monk also taught how both physical and mental health is important for meditation.
It is an interesting topic because the lecture was based on the Tripitaka – how the Buddhist monks take care of their health from morning to night. The content involved how to drink water and take meals, and how to live a balanced and healthy life. Finally, the teaching monk concluded that when you can maintain your health to be good, you will have free time and positive emotions to look after your mind and improve it through meditation.
The knowledge on that day was very useful and interesting for all.
