Almsgiving Ceremony at Wat Phra Dhammakaya, London

Wat Phra Dhammakaya, London organizes an alms offering ceremony for monks from 5 countries during their rainy retreat at Woking City, England and donates dry food to the homeless.

On 13 August 2022, at Jubilee Square of Woking City, Wat Phra Dhammakaya, London held an alms offering ceremony for monks from 5 countries : England, Scotland, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and India by having Phramaha Ronnaphop Chotilapho, the Abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, London as presiding monk and Mr. Saj Hussain , Mayor of Woking City as chairman for the lay people. The great number of Thai people and local residents participated in this ceremony.

The purpose of this almsgiving is to preserve the Buddhist tradition by making merit during rainy retreat and donate some part of dry food to two foundations for the homeless, namely Food Bank and York Road Project. Ms. Alison Buckland, representative from Woking Food Bank and Mr. Stephen Ireland, representative from York Road Project expressed their gratitude for this Buddhists’ support.
