On 12 September 2024, at the 71st Anniversary Kitchen Building, Venerable Phrakhrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso-director of Communication Department of Wat Phra Dhammakaya mentioned that as the result of former Typhoon Yagi, Chiang Rai faced the heavy flooding in Mae Sai district, Mae Chan district, Chiang Khong district and Muang district due to the overflowing of Sai River and Kok River and Chiang Mai also got impact from the flooding and landslide in Fang district and Mae Ai district. On behalf of Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Dhammakaya Foundation, Venerable Phrakhrusamu Sanitwong and representatives of Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Dhammakaya Foundation handed over additional 1,000 relief supply bags to help the flood victims in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai provinces. Moreover, two boats, life jackets, clothes, vegetables and cooking ingredients were donated to mitigate the living difficulties of the flood victims.
Previously, 2,000 relief supply bags were provided to the flood victims in Sukhothai, Chiang Rai, Phrae and Nan provinces. In conclusion, the total of 3,000 relief supply bags are donated to help the flood victims in Sukhothai, Chiang Rai, Phrae, Nan and Chiang Mai provinces.
