In 2500 years ago, at the Vihara of Rajagriha city in Magaha. The lord Buddha have given sermon to the 1,250 arahants, in term of the idea, theory on giving Dhamma talk, and also the principle and methods on the propagation of the Buddhism. All Bhikkhu that present on the occasion have the same understanding on the correct ways of propagate the teachings of Lord Buddha. Futurity would like to commemorate this very special rare occasion，have decide to gather on this day, and organize the Magha Puja day.
The important of Magha Puja Day: on the 15th day of the first lunar month. At the Vihara, the Lord Buddha and bhikkhu gather together, consists of four special causes:
1.That day was the 15th day of the lunar month. Consider as the major Buddha day, and it is also the full moon day;
2.All 1,250 arahants happen to coincide and gather together. And the Lord Buddha didn’t invite any of them to come. Every bhikkhu base on their own insight , to notice this incident. And gather from all directions.
3.Every bhikkhu have attain the fruition of arahantship, eliminated all defilements, purified, process supernatural power: extensive eyesight ability (dibba-cakkhu), extensive hearing ability (dibba-sota), ability to know the past (pubbe-nivasanussati) and ability to know thought of others, etc.
4.These Bhkikku are the ehi-bhikkhu, which the Lord Buddha personally have performed the ceremony on shaving-off their hairs.
In this grand Buddhism festival, the Buddhists from all over the world have perform various forms of celebration. Almost every temple will organize the ceremony on light offering. Every years Wat Phra Dhammakaya will organize grand ceremony on lighting lanterns, the participants have exceeded few hundreds of thousands. The volunteers involved have more than ten thousands, the whole ceremony were very orderly organized. Which was unique and solemnity.
During the evening time, hundreds of thousands of followers gather in front of the great Dhammakaya Cetiya. Perform the ceremony on lighting of the lanterns ceremony. At the same time, perform blessing, meditate, circumambulation. Finally, light up about ten thousands lanterns at the same time, in order to form up a sea of lanterns. The entire ceremony was very orderly, the atmosphere was solemn and awe-inspiring. In the square of the grand Dhammakaya Cetiya which could hold one million people, light up hundred thousands of lanterns and offering to the most greatest teacher of man kinds – the Lord Buddha.
Recalling the greatness of triple Gem could shelter us. It even could surpass the unpredictable death, and won’t worry when, where and how we would be death? Just simply still your mind, till you attain the inner truth. Which is fill with happiness and great love. And will treat all mankind with great benevolence, yet could even surpass the surrounding environment. The influence of external realm will not be able to affect the person who have attain their inner triple Gem.
It also coincide with the 49th anniversary on the founding of Wat Phra Dhammakaya. The temple will continue the great aspiration inherit from the grand masters. Which is propagate the Buddhism throughout every corners of the world, and allow the teaching of Lord Buddha could infuse into the mind of every followers and develop a world with the true happiness and peace.
To organize these activities, not only to let the people could see the thriving of Buddhism. It also remind ourselves, in order to establish a wonderful society, it need every individual to achieve their own inner peace in the first place.
To thought about the great kindness of the Lord Buddha, we need to let the people understand the great story on the greatest acts of virtue and asceticism of the Lord Buddha. In order to, let them realise that how difficult it is, to be born as a human being.
The pass-on of the lighting, symbolize that the pass-on of wisdom and kindness from the Lord Buddha into everyone mind. It also bring along endless of warmth, hope, peacefulness and safeness.
Offering light to the Lord Buddha, is an ancient Buddhism tradition. During the Buddha Era, it already exist. The brightness could clean away darkness. The Lord Buddha provide the brightness of the right Dhamma, to clean off the darkness of ignorance. Therefore, the Buddhists believe offering of light to the Lord Buddha, could allow us to obtain great merits.
The light up of the candle in our hand, which in turn will also light up the lantern in our mind.
Everyone hold the lantern in their hand with blessing, follow every foot step of the Sangha and circumambulate the great Dhammakaya Cetiya.
The brightness of the lanterns, could shrine through the confusion and perversion of our ego, develop our wisdom, and firm up our determination.

The ten thousands lanterns offering to the Lord Buddha in the temple shrine across the night sky, brighten throughout the whole square and it was a very solemnly picture.
In here, Wat Phra Dhammakaya sincerely thank you all the personals, the great followers that supported the temple. In order that, the Magha Puja day in year 2019 could be ended with perfection. We are hoping that in year 2020 could organize it again. May the merits of extend the life span of Buddhism, could reach out to all beings. May all wishes for goodness acts, could be realise immediately, everything go well according to the wishes, attain the eye of Dhamma, able to attain the inner Dhammakaya, every life times could continuously perform good deeds and accumulate paramita , till reaching the ultimate of Dhamma.
