The Abbot of Johannesburg Meditation Centre, South Africa, Phrakhrubhavanavidesa participated in the African Leaders of Peace Summit 2018 during August 13–14, 2018.
The meeting theme was “Achieving Peace in Our Lifetime” to commemorate the birth of African leaders Tata Nelson Mandela and Mama Albertina Sisulu. This conference was held by the Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL) at the Grand Ballroom of Westin Grand Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa and over 1,000 religious leaders, politicians, and educators from leading organizations and institutes across Africa, from over 40 countries, joined this summit.
On this occasion, Phrakhrubhavanavidesa was a Buddhist representative from Africa to deliver the speeches on the principle, importance and method of creating inner peace and world peace in the Buddhist teaching especially the way that Johannesburg Meditation Centre has been using for 12 years – “World Peace through Inner Peace” – via mediation.
Briefly, we place our wandering mind to still at the 7th Base of Mind which is the universal way for all human being, no matter what race, religion, culture or race they are or believe.
After delivering the speeches, Phrakhrubhavanavidesa led the conferees to meditate for 5 minutes. When the meditation was over, all of them clapped their hands to express their impression and appreciated this way of creating inner peace.
