Wat Phra Dhammakaya Manchester arranged the Wednesday Meditation Class on Wednesday January 10th, 2018.
The teaching monk gave an introduction to meditation for all newcomers. First, the teaching monk assigned Ms. Jeannette Slavinski to lead the participants in stretching and body relaxation. There was a 3-year-old child in the class on that day. Even though the child didn’t understand iclearly, he was interested and listened to the teaching monk intently.
During the meditation session, the teaching monk first helped them adjust their minds by thinking of a nice child and beautiful nature. This helped them to be more relaxed, more comfortable and happy. Then, the teaching monk suggested them to visualize a visualization object such as the bright sun in the center of the body as well as repeating the Mantra Samma Arahung.
When everybody adjusted their bodies and minds, the teaching monk led them to meditate for 1 hour. After that the teaching monk asked about their experience and found that they had good experiences. They could relax both their bodies and minds. They were calm, peaceful and happy. Some, both regular and new participants, saw the inner light. Some could still their minds at the center of the body, even though they could do it only for a short time, they were very happy.
