
On 21 September 2025, Bali Meditation Center and The Union of Thai Dhammaduta in Africa – the Middle East (UTAM) jointly organized the event of Light of Peace Pali 2025 & A Global Meditation Gathering for World Peace on International Day of Peace in Bali, Indonesia.
On occasion of International Day of Peace, “the Middle Way Meditation” was arranged for all participants to experience the inner peace through meditation. Beside the meditation practice, the lanterns of peace were lighted as the signal of world peace. This event was presided by Most Venerable Phraratwachiramethee, president of UTAM, abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya-Scotland and assistant abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya and attended by over 500 Indonesian youths and more than 2,000 foreigners from 60 countries.
The International Day of Peace on 21 September was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. Two decades later, in 2001, the General Assembly unanimously voted to designate this day as a period of non-violence and cease-fire.
