Congratulatory Ceremony for Successful Pali Students at Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen

The Royal Dhamma Studies Office in collaboration with the National Office of Buddhism organized a congratulatory ceremony for successful Pali students and outstanding Pali schools in 2025

On 9 September 2025, Venerable Phrakhrupaladrattanaveerawat, abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, together with Venerable Phramaha Suwit Dhammikamuni (Pali scholar of level 9), headmaster of Religious Studies Department, was awarded monk robe, talipot fan of honor, monastic shoulder bag and trophy for the outstanding Dhamma studies school. For the Pali test of Royal Dhamma Studies Office in 2025, Wat Phra Dhammakaya achieved the largest number of successful Pali students as the first place of Central Monastic Region. The ceremony was presided by Most Venerable Phraprommoli, a committee member of Royal Dhamma Studies Office, ecclesiastical chief of Region 5 and abbot of Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen at Phra Maha Chedi Maharatchamongkol, Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen, Bangkok.

In this event, 11 monks, achieving the 9th Pali studies level and another 40 successful students of Pali level 1-8 from Wat Phra Dhammakaya also joined the ceremony to be awarded certificate of honor, talipot fan of Pali studies and commemorative pin.

The Pali studies involves the Pali learning through the wording of Buddha, recorded in Buddhist scripture and manual of Buddhist scripture interpretation and becomes the means of reading and translating Pali language for monks and laypeople in order to understand and explain the text in  Buddhist scripture of Pali version, which is the foundation of studying the code of monastic discipline profoundly.

The Department of Religious Studies of Wat Phra Dhammakaya established the School of Pali Studies for the Pali teaching both in the classroom and through online learning system as the self-study method. In 2025, 1,747 monks and 522 laypeople from Religious Studies Department of Wat Phra Dhammakaya took the Pali test of Royal Dhamma Studies Office and Wat Phra Dhammakaya was also selected as the second Pali test venue of Pathum Thani province.
