This historic event marked the first such ordination for Buddhist monks in Bangladesh, held at Tham Jakkari Temple, Aranyakuthi, Ramgarh Upazila, Khagrachari District, Bangladesh.
In the afternoon of February 9, 2567 B.E. (2024), after obtaining consent and receiving robes from their guardians, the 127 novice monk candidates underwent the ordination ceremony. Venerable U Kemasara Mahathera, the Abbot of Jokhatta Peace Pagoda in Ramgarh Upazila, Khagrachari District, Bangladesh, presided over the ordination. Following the successful completion of the ceremony, guardians and attendees participated by offering requisites and traditional Thai items, in accordance with Marma customs.
