The Dhammakaya International Meditation Center of New Jersey (D.I.M.C.N.J) arranged the Candle Lighting for World Peace Event at Dhammakaya Meditation Garden on August 23, 2016 in honor of the World Meditation Day. This was for the residents of Fanwood and nearby cities to meditate and light the Candles of Peace together. The objectives of this event were to promote Dhammakaya Meditation Garden and to make the people realize the importance of meditation and to spread this universal technique because it was the way for everyone to reach inner peace and was the beginning point to create world peace. There were over 40 participants and many VIP of the city honored to be the representatives to light special lanterns which were Mayor representative Mr. Kevin Boris, Inspector of Fanwood Police Station Chief Richard Trigo, President of Municipal Council Ms. Katherine Mitchell and CEO of YMCA Ms. Kim Decker. The atmosphere was peaceful, holy and beautiful so it impressed all special guests and all participants. Some of them revealed that they had never known before that there was such beautiful and peaceful place in their city and they wanted to come again with their families to meditate more often there.
