Venerable Phrakrupaladrattanaveerawat, the abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, is the preceptor for the ordinands of the following mass ordination programs:
- The mass ordination during the Rains-Retreat period (30 June-3 November 2024)
- IDOP ordination program, conducted in Chinese language (1-30 July 2024)
- The 13rd ordination batch for young students from international schools (7-28 July 2024)
On 13 July 2024, at Wat Phra Dhammakaya, the early morning ceremony started with the circumambulation of Maha Dhammakaya Cetiya by ordinands and their parents, followed by paying homage to the ceitya of the ordinands, the ceremony to beg forgiveness from parents and the monks’ robe offering of parents. The late morning ceremony was the request of the Three Refuges and 10 precepts, followed by the offering of the monks’ bowl and basic necessities. As for the main ordination ritual, it was carried out at the chapel of Wat Phra Dhammakaya during 13-14 July 2024.
Venerable Phramahanopporn Punyachayo, as assistant abbot and associate director of Communication Department of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, mentioned that these 3 ordination programs were organized annually during the Rains-Retreat period for the purposes of 1. Reviving ordination tradition of Thai men in order that they will be trained of the Buddha’s teaching principles to live their life in the right way 2. Practicing meditation to find the inner peace 3. Expressing the gratitude of ordinands to their parents.
