25th Foundation Anniversary of Wat Phra Dhammakaya-Osaka

On 25 April 2025, Venerable Phraratvitheswachiramethee, assistant abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya and abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya-Scotland, England, together with abbots of 15 Wat Phra Dhammakaya branches in Asian and African regions, presided over the blessing ceremony on occasion of 25th foundation anniversary of Wat Phra Dhammakaya-Osaka. This event was attended by Most Venerable Phraratpatcharamethee, provincial ecclesiastical chief of Phetchabun and abbot of Wat Mahathat (a royal temple), Venerable Phrakhruvithes Aswarak (scholar of Pali level 9), abbot of White Horse Temple in China and Venerable Phramaha Sombat Inthapanyo, Ph.D. (scholar of Pali level 9), abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya-Oregon, U.S.A..

In this event, there were two additional ceremonies : the enshrinement ceremony of the Great Master Phramongkolthepmuni statue, which was chaired by Mr.Chaiyos Techataveewat and his Texas Suki business family and the ceremony of forest robe offering, which was presided by Ms. Parichart Somphan and her family. A large number of Thai and Japanese laypeople and Japanese local residents also took part in the three big ceremonies on occasion of the 25th foundation anniversary of Wat Phra Dhammakaya-Osaka.

Wat Phra Dhammakaya-Osaka was first established on 27 March 2000 on the second floor of JSK4 Building in Osaka city under the official name of Osaka Meditation Center. Later, the temple changed its name to Wat Bhavana-Osaka on 1 August 2004 and Wat Phra Dhammakaya-Osaka on 2 April 2006. The temple is located in Asahi-ku, Osaka city and Venerable Phramaha Kittirit Itthiyano is the current abbot of the temple.
