The Dhammakaya temple is hosting the 14th International Dhammadayada Ordination Program (IDOP) from July 3- August 8, 2016. For this event, it is a great honor to have the Most Ven. Phramaha Potiwongsaajarn, the Abbot of Rat-cha-oar-ra-sa-ram-vo-ra-wi-harn temple (9th level Pali Scholar) as the preceptor monk. The 57 participants come from diverse backgrounds and comprised of 11 nationalities: American, Chinese, Mongolian, Indonesian, Singaporean, Malaysian, Indian, Taiwanese, Hongkongese, and Thai.
Most Ven. Phramaha Nobporn Puyunchayo, the Asssistant Coordinator of the temple’s communication department stated that, “This program gives international people the opportunity to intensively learn about the Lord Buddha’s teachings according to Buddhism’s conducts. The participants will study the biography of the Lord Buddha, the Dhamma teaching, Laws of Karma, and practice meditation. Before the program’s conclusion, the participants will get to pilgrimage, this is to instill perseverance and encourage continuous self-improvement—a foundation of Real Monk. Although, the participants will eventually return from the program to live the lay life, what they will learn from this program will yield immense benefits. The Buddhism wisdoms will help them become successful in life, and to act as a decent person for society. This program also helps assimilate Buddhism and instills peace for the citizens in many countries around the world.”
