Wat Phra Dhammakaya London provided an introductory guide to Buddhist lifestyle to a group of children from Pyrford Red Pack Cubs on Wednesday 8th November 2017. Started by telling the history of Buddhism and history of the Buddhist temple in England along with showing pictures of the temple past activities.
Besides listening to the history of Buddhism, learning the Universal goodness is a perfect way for kids to start knowing about the Buddhist Lifestyle.
Universal Goodness is mainly about giving, keeping the precepts and meditation practice. Kids were asked to participate in meditation class as well as share their meditation experience.
They were encouraged to keep the five precepts which are the most common Buddhist lifestyle. Moreover, they got to learn about the most basic act of giving, the almsgiving.
Universal Goodness is the foundation of the correct lifestyle. It can provide us better opportunities to improve our quality of life. Monks and staffs were happy that this lesson can guide all the kids to choose the right path in the future.
