Morning Alms Round, Menchester, UK

The monks from Wat Phra Dhammakaya Manchester went for the Morning Alms Round in China Town in Manchester on November 9, 2017.  Thai, Chinese and local residents happily offered alms to the monks  and this greatly impressed the public.  Then, the monks traveled to be merit field at Petchpilin Restaurant.

Monks receiving alms is one of the monk’s obligations set by the Lord Buddha. This tradition has been carried out since the Buddhist era.

The Lord Buddha praised alms offering as a gracious act, or as it is known in Buddhism, as Beings’ Liberation.

This is because alms receiving is, in a way, a way to propagate Buddhism.
